Viola Davis has stated that she will treat herself to a meal if she is awarded the Grammy and completes the EGOT… Know more below…

Viola Davis is putting everything on the line in the event that she wins all four EGOTs.

After receiving a Grammy nomination for her audiobook Finding Me, which Davis narrated, the star of “Woman King” spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of her receiving EGOT status at the 13th annual Governors Awards, which took place at Los Angeles’ Fairmount Century Plaza on the previous Saturday. Davis was the narrator for the audiobook.

Davis, 57, told the outlet that receiving the nomination for best audiobook, narration, and storytelling recording along with other nominees in the category including Jamie Foxx, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mel Brooks, and Questlove “felt pretty good.” Other nominees in the category include Mel Brooks and Questlove.

After winning an Oscar, an Emmy, and two Tony Awards for her work in King Hedley II and the Broadway production of Fences, Davis is just one Grammy award away from achieving EGOT status. Her previous accolades include the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for Fences, the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for How to Get Away with Murder, and the Tony Award for Fences on Broadway.

When asked by ET about the possibility of achieving EGOT rank and being a member of the prestigious club, the actress responded, “It is a bizarre title to have.” “And as I was thinking about it, I thought to myself, ‘If I am successful in doing that, I might take myself out to dinner.’ ”

Davis’s most recent acting role was in The Woman King, which was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and produced by Davis and her husband, Julius Tennon.

In September, when the film made its premiere at the top of the box office, Davis told Variety that she is “absolutely open” to the notion of filming a sequel to Woman King. However, Tennon stated that the two had not “had discussions about it as of yet.”

“I’m open to more but let me tell you. I had already reached the status of being the most senior fighter on the field of battle “Davis mentioned the possibility of a sequel while speaking to the source.

She continued by saying, “If we do a sequel, I’m hoping I still have my teeth.” “But the answer is yes, I’m completely open to the idea. Always.”

When asked about The Woman King’s box office numbers at the time, the actress commented to Variety that she believes people have a tendency to say that women only represent a certain percentage of the box office. “I think people have a tendency to say we only represent a certain percentage of the box office,” “We are familiar with Black women. We are aware that they are going to bring coworkers, spouses, and other members of their families, and that they are going to return multiple times over the course of the weekend.”

She went on to say, “We are in an industry that doesn’t see the power Black women have at the worldwide box office,” as an additional comment.

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, during the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, Davis and her admirers will have the opportunity to learn whether or not she plans to go out to dinner with herself.
