Celia Imrie states she signed an agreement to have her son like this…

Celia Imrie, star of “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” welcomed her kid with a well-known “Pride & Prejudice” actor. She didn’t reveal specifics of their agreement until after his birth, though.

Both Celia Imrie, an actress, and her son Angus Imrie, an actor, have strong physical similarities. Angus also shares their respective careers.

From 2012 to 2015, he attended the University of Warwick, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Theater. Then, with a focus on acting, he attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

His most well-known roles include Jake, the spooky stepson of Claire in Pheobe Waller-“Fleabag,” Bridge’s and Prince Edward with Olivia Coleman as Queen Elizabeth II in the fourth season of “The Crown.”

Angus used his acting skills to play another royal before playing the Queen’s lesser-known son. Alongside Patrick Stewart, he played Young Merlin in “The Kid Who Would Be King” and Prince Arthur in “The Spanish Princess.”

Along with Josh Cornwell from “The Crown” and Anya Taylor-Joy from “The Queen’s Gambit,” he also appeared in “Emma.” Angus has played characters who are more serious, but he also has a tender side.

The actor most recently put his voice acting talents to use in “Back to the Outback,” a Netflix animated film about a group of creatures who travel from a Sydney zoo to the Australian outback. The character is a sensitive scorpion named Nigel.

Angus has other creative pursuits outside acting. He writes as well. A stack of coloring postcards was included with the radio drama “Homeward Bound,” which was written by the star of “The Archers.”

When Angus is not working to advance his career, he supports his neighborhood. He ran the Brighton Marathon in September 2021 in an effort to raise money for Barnardo’s, a nonprofit.

On his Just Giving fundraising page, Angus raised more than £1000. He stated on the page that Barnardo helps place children with foster and adoptive parents, offers practical and emotional care, and safeguards and supports the most vulnerable children in the UK.

There is no doubt that Angus’s famous mother is proud of him given the trajectory of his career and charitable achievements to date. With the late “Pride & Prejudice” actor Benjamin Whitrow, Celia welcomed Angus in 1994.

Whitrow and Celia’s connection, though, was quite intriguing. Celia revealed in her 2011 autobiography, “The Happy Hoofer,” that she had set forth her conditions for Whitrow because she wanted to have the child before it was too late.

She wouldn’t ask him for anything, live with him, or get married if he accepted to be the father of her child. She would also be in charge of picking and paying for the child’s educational and other expenses.

“Whitrow was a fantastic father to Angus, and Angus was similarly devoted to his father,” Celia said, adding that he did not have to be involved in the child’s life if he did not want to.
