Mom and 6-year-old daughter perform duet of ‘Shallow’ that is sweeter than sugar
Music brings people together. Around the world, no matter what culture you research, you’ll find that everyone has some form of music that helps unite communities. It’s quite amazing actually. By using instruments, even our own voices, we can create music that truly moves people.
One 6-year-old named Sophie Fatu and her mother Victoria Fatu are some of those voices waiting to be discovered on youtube. Currently, Sophie has 330K subscribers on youtube and when she posted a cover of the song “Shallow” which she duets with her mother the heartwarming video went viral with currently 196K likes and over 3,650,000 views.
From the very beginning, we can see how excited Sophie and her mother Vicky are to sing together.
As soon as Sophie starts to sing we can see and feel her passion by the way she expresses herself as she sings and through her unique voice. Although, she is only 6-years-old she does not miss a note!
Before it is her mother’s turn the two share a sweet moment embracing having the gift of singing to share with one another and those who discover them on youtube.
As her mother starts to sing we can see where Sophie gets her beautiful singing voice from. Sophie even lip syncs while her mother sings giving her loving looks all while patiently waiting for her next part.
Then the big moment comes and Sophie absolutely nails her part followed by her mom. Again you can just see and feel the passion between Sophie and her mom as Vicky closes her eyes and lifts her hand in the air while her daughter sings and Sophie placing both hands on her heart.
Then the two finish their beautiful duet smiling from cheek to cheek and give each other a high five.
Once they are both finished singing they share a tender moment and just appreciating one another and what their beautiful duet just did for their hearts.
At the very end of the video, Sophie and Vicky take the time to thank everyone who has commented and shared their videos. Vicky states that with every share of their videos people have changed their lives and in return this has allowed them to start changing the lives of other people. Sophie even shares a sweet message of her own saying,
“I hope you love this video and I hope I made you a little bit happy!”
Sophie’s mom assures her that she thinks she made those watching happy and we could not agree more!
