Students dance perfectly choreographed Beyoncé routine, didn’t expect her to dance with them

Imagine having just a normal day at school, participating in a dance class, when all of a sudden one of the most famous superstars in the world walks into the room. It’s safe to say that it would make your day, right? Well, that’s exactly what happened to a group of students at P.S. 161 back in May of 2011. ol, located in the Harlem neighborhood of New York, was letting their students take part in the national “Let’s Move Flash Workout” campaign started by Michelle Obama.

Around 85 unsuspecting students were dancing in their school gymnasium, having no idea what incredible surprise was about to come their way.

The energetic students danced around to Beyoncé’s “Get Me Bodied,” all wearing the same “Let’s Move” t-shirts in support of the inspiring fitness campaign. The group has clearly been practicing for quite some time as they have the choreography down perfectly.

Clapping and stepping side-to-side, the students are all remarkably impressive dancers! The song is in the stylings to the “Single Ladies” melody and beat, each of the students’ feet moves in total synchronicity.

Just over a minute and a half into their dance routine, Queen Bey comes running into the gymnasium, donning white jeans, stiletto heels, and a “Let’s Move” shirt. The students can’t help but scream!

The mega-star, with a giant smile on her face, hops into line with the students to continue the dance with them. It’s obvious that Beyoncé has been practicing the “Let’s Move Flash Workout” routine as well! And it’s also obvious that she’s used to dancing in high heels because she doesn’t seem to be phased at all.

Surprisingly, the students are amazing at containing their excitement and continue the routine with the superstar right in their midst. It’s as if Beyoncé seamlessly blended right into the group welcomed with open arms.

Beyoncé adds her own “queen-like” twist on some of the dance moves and each student dancing around her can’t wipe the smile from their face.

Toward the end of the routine and fitness workout, Beyoncé runs through the crowd of students as they let out more cheers and screams. They would have never expected such a huge presence at their normally overlooked Harlem school. It was certainly a memory that they wouldn’t soon forget.

13-year-old Aisha Collier gushed “she’s so beautiful” to the New York Times. We’re sure it was an absolute dream come true for a teenage Beyoncé fan. And to top it all off? It was all for a great cause!

The “Let’s Move” campaign was created by Michelle Obama in an effort to end childhood obesity.

According to the Let’s Move website:

“Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let’s Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. Giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices. Providing healthier foods in our schools. Ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food. And, helping kids become more physically active.”
