8- Yr-Old Girl Who Underwent Heart Transplant Gets Her Wish To Meet The Rockettes | “She Had The Biggest Eyes And Smile”
8Scarlett said, “I’m really excited to go dance with the Rockettes and watch their performance.”
Eight-year-old Scarlett, who underwent a heart transplant, had her dream come true as she got to dance with the Rockettes. Thanks to a partnership between Make-A-Wish Southern Florida and Make-A-Wish Metro NYC, Scarlett and her family recently got an opportunity to fly to New York City to have the weekend of their lifetime.
Scarlett was 3 years old when she stopped eating and her parents thought that she was being a picky eater. However, after a blood test, they would find out that their daughter had a rare heart condition. Her mom, Shanna Tabron told PEOPLE, “I was shocked. Her heart? I thought it was her stomach. It was tough to understand and let it sink in. The heart is the engine to your body, and it was heart-wrenching to hear it.”
At this young age, trips to hospitals increased manifold for Scarlett. Finally, in 2019, she received a heart transplant. Scarlett herself told PEOPLE, “I had a broken heart, so I got it replaced.” After getting the transplant, she added, she has, “been feeling better.” Her mom also added, “Scarlett always loved dancing, even when she was sick.” When she got better after the transplant and was discharged from the hospital, her parents threw a dance party at home for her to the Trolls soundtrack.
