Many people find bras uncomfortable and are going bra-free—and it looks like Gillian Anderson is one of them. The 52-year-old actress made it very clear with followers during a live question and answer session on Instagram that she is “not wearing a bra anymore.” According to CNN Style, Anderson was answering a question from a fan who asked what outfits she wore during the lockdown. To which The Crown star shared candidly, “I’m so lazy and I don’t wear a bra anymore. I can’t wear a bra. I’m sorry, I don’t care if I reach my belly button, my breasts reach my belly button, I’m not wearing a bra anymore. It’s just too f**king uncomfortable.”
Anderson’s comments were quick to be supported by many fans. Even writer and social campaigner Nicky Clark praised Anderson’s honesty and relatability in an opinion column for the British newspaper The Independent, writing: “I applaud Gillian Anderson’s attitude to sagging breasts — it highlights our love-hate relationship with an item of clothing that is supposedly good for us, without necessarily being good to us.”
