After retiring from professional football in 1994, Brad William Henke pursued a career in the acting industry.

Brad According to a representative for the actor, William Henke passed away on Tuesday at the age of 56. He was best known for his role as corrections officer Desi Piscatella in the Netflix series “Orange Is the New Black.” He was a former NFL player.

“Brad was a man of boundless kindness and boundless joyful enthusiasm. He was a highly brilliant actor who cherished his membership in this society… and we cherished his presence just as much. His manager, Matt DelPiano, released a statement to TMZ in which he said, “Our sympathies are with his wife and family at this time.”

The reason for their passing was not made public.

After sustaining injuries that forced him to retire from professional football in 1994, Henke began pursuing a career in the acting industry. Throughout his career, he has made guest appearances on dozens of different television series, some of which include “The Office,” “Lost,” “Criminal Minds,” “Shameless,” “Life on Mars,” and “Law & Order.”

The movies “Pacific Rim” and “World Trade Center” featured him in supporting roles.

Before being selected by the New York Giants in the 1989 college football draft, he was a standout college football player at the University of Arizona. After that, he moved on to play for the Denver Broncos and participated in Super Bowl XXIV in 1990 as a member of the Broncos’ defensive line against the San Francisco 49ers.
