The week after Alandria Worthy gave birth to her child in the restroom of a McDonald’s location in the Atlanta region, she returned to the fast-food restaurant for a baby shower that was hosted by the team members who assisted her during the delivery of her child.
The delivery of baby Nandi Ariyah Moremi Phillips took place a week ago with the assistance of Tunisia Woodward, Sha’querria Kaigler, and Keisha Blue-Murray. Worthy was the mother.
On Wednesday, Worthy and her fiancé Deandre Phillips brought their daughter back to McDonald’s, where they were surprised with a variety of baby necessities, including diapers, wipes, and a hefty present from the owner and operator of the restaurant.
The valiant crew members who came to the rescue the previous week were also present at the shower, and they spent the majority of their time doting on little Nandi. As a token of appreciation from the franchise owner, each of them was presented with a gift card as part of McDonald’s Thank You Crew’s effort.
At the beginning of this year, McDonald’s introduced a new program that allows McDonald’s customers and other employees to nominate exceptional McDonald’s crew members and managers who go above and beyond their responsibilities.
During the week prior, Worthy was in the process of giving birth and on her way to the hospital when she requested her fiancé to pull over so that she could use the restroom. He went to McDonald’s for a bite to eat.
Worthy shared her story with the local news channel 11 Alive in Atlanta. “I walked into the restroom and my water broke immediately,” she said. “Because it took place in such a short amount of time, it was an experience.”
The new mother recalled that when Worthy started crying, the general manager of that facility, Woodward, walked over to offer assistance.
Woodward informed his coworkers Kaigler and Blue-Murray, and they all got themselves ready to assist with the delivery.
“Sha’querria quickly grabbed the phone and phoned the emergency number. Keisha ran while keeping an eye on the door “Woodward was able to recall.
At this moment, Phillips walked into the McDonald’s to check on his fiancee and discovered her surrounded by the three female employees. He left the restaurant without saying anything to them.
According to the story, Nandi was finally delivered after three more pushes and 15 minutes had passed.
The staff members at McDonald’s were quick to bestow upon the young girl an endearing moniker with a McDonald’s theme.
“I said, we’re going to name her Little Nugget. Her alias is McDonald’s Little Nugget, and that’s her moniker “Woodward remarked.
Phillips continued by saying, “She’s definitely a nugget.” “Even my parents thought it was a beautiful name. We were like, ‘Okay, it matches her. My little nugget.’”
