Susan Sarandon Is a living legend as a result of her contributions to the film business, yet underneath this intimidating persona lies a lady who has seen both the best and the worst that life has to offer. Sarandon was given a diagnosis with endometriosis when she was 36 years old.
The actress was informed that she would never be able to have children due to the sickness, in addition to the discomforts that came along with the illness. She continues to serve as a role model and advocate for women who are currently coping with endometriosis. In 2011, Sarandon gave a presentation at a meeting hosted by the Endometriosis Organization of America (EOA).
There, she encouraged other women to live beyond their diagnoses and to never let what appears to be the ultimate reality hold them back from pursuing their dreams.
The statement delivered by Sarandon also contested the preconceived notion that women are destined to endure hardship. She issued a rallying cry to males, asking them to assist women coping with such health difficulties in overcoming feelings of isolation and stigma.
Sarandon was well aware of the fact that she would never be able to become a mother, but she nevertheless decided to have surgery. Therefore, the actress was irresponsible in her behavior by not subscribing to any preventative measures, which included not using birth control pills. Consequently, she became pregnant.
This time around, Sarandon disclosed on the Oprah Winfrey Network that she went to Italy to film opposite Anthony Hopkins. Hopkins was also present for the conversation. When the actress was in Europe, she met Franco Amurri, an Italian man, and fell in love with him. Franco Amurri astonished the actress with his looks, speech, and family.
As their relationship continued to develop, Sarandon began to contemplate deepening her understanding of her Italian heritage. She had been making plans to move throughout the country when all of a sudden she discovered she was pregnant.
Becoming a parent appeared to be the worst choice for the “Stepmom” star at the time because it could potentially slow her down and she was just beginning to gain the credit she deserved for her work on the show.
Therefore, it did not come as a surprise when she advised against having the child. Despite this, Sarandon was willing to give up her job in order to become a mother. Due to the fact that she was so determined, many people referred to her in disparaging terms, including the term “mad.”
Decades after giving birth to all of her children, the actress talked proudly about being a mother, revealing that becoming a mother was the reason she received one of the worst pieces of advice she’d ever gotten in her life. When she thought back to that time, she said:
“I believe they told me, “Don’t have the baby,” as if having a child would be detrimental to my profession and I was already so old anyhow. I was 39 when I had my first child… [The responses consisted of] “Are you insane? Don’t!’”
Sarandon chose to ignore the advice, and at the age of 39, she gave birth to her first child, a girl named Eva. The actress, despite being a first-time mother, provided an exceptional upbringing for her kid by putting her whole heart into becoming a parent.v
The star of “White Palace” was married to Chris Sarandon for a good number of years before the birth of their daughter. Between the years 1967 and 1979, they were a couple. After her marriage ended, she had a few high-profile relationships before she started dating the Italian.
After their relationship ended after four years together, Sarandon began dating another Hollywood star, Tim Robbins, whom she had met on the set of “Bull Durham.” Their relationship lasted for a total of two years.
