As a young actress, Chloe Grace Moretz experienced feelings of being “emotionally traumatized” by older males…

Chloe Grace Moretz has been quoted as saying that when she was a teenage actor, she experienced the feeling of being “infantilized” by “older males” in the film industry.

The actress, who began her career when she was seven years old and is best known for her role in Kickass, recently opened up about her experiences of working with older guys when she was younger.

During an interview on the podcast Reign with Josh Smith, the young woman, who is now 25 years old, related how, whenever she attempted to share her thoughts and opinions, she was constantly “shot down.”

She continued by saying, “It was always strange from the time I played my first main role in Carrie when I was 14 years old… it was always extremely exciting to see who would be truly dissatisfied with a young woman.”

“At that point, I had already worked for so many years – almost 10 years – and as I continued through having more important roles on set as I grew up, it was always very interesting to see the pushback that I would get from a lot of people,” she said. “At that point, I had already worked for so many years, and almost all of those years had been spent in the entertainment industry.”

She went on to say, “Most of the time, it was definitely older men who would try to infantilize me.” If I brought real items to the table, they would almost always be dismissed as irrelevant.

In addition, the actress who appeared in Suspiria mentioned that there was frequently a “power struggle” on set during the time that she played the starring role yet was still a teenager.

“Having to even appeal to an older man on behalf of your 14, 15, 16-year-old self is a really, really strange type of mind f**k,” she said. “Having to even argue with an older man on behalf of your younger self is a mind f**k.”

Moretz also discussed the significance of having boundaries in her life, revealing that she “didn’t grow up with any boundaries” and elaborating on how important they are to her now.

“I learned a lot of my boundaries in life, both in terms of what I want in my friendships and in terms of what I want in my relationships… “I believe that having clear boundaries is quite important,” she stated.

Speaking your truth to other people without assigning blame or passing judgment on them is an essential component in recognizing your boundaries and truly enforcing those boundaries.

She continued by saying, “Boundaries are something new for me.” I was raised without any restrictions or limits.

“I didn’t develop any boundaries in my life, and as a result, I was struck like a ton of bricks more than once, and each time I did, I was like, ‘You know what? I believe that there is something called boundaries that I need to learn.
