Dr. Oz made a marriage proposal to his wife with a can tab…

Mehmet Oz is undoubtedly the most well-known doctor in the world, and Lisa Lemole, his wife of almost 40 years, has played a significant role in his remarkable television career.

Dr. Mehmet Oz has long been a popular TV doctor, but he and his wife, Lisa Lemole, are also the proud parents of four kids. The most well-known member of his family is Dr. Oz, but Lemole is also well-known for her work as an actress, a novelist, and a radio host.

Lemole and Dr. Oz have been married for 36 years, despite the ups and downs that any relationship experiences. The beginning of their relationship was highly unique, much like their marriage proposal, and their parents were involved.

Because they met through their parents, Dr. Oz made light of the fact that their relationship was “kind of an arranged marriage.” Dr. Oz’s father and Lemole’s father were friends, and one evening they took both kids out to supper.

Lemole had never seen Dr. Oz before and at first assumed he was the “maître d” of the establishment (a kind of waiter). She nonetheless believed he was a hot employee because of his good appearance.

They were unable to converse freely because their parents had spent the entire evening at the table with them. Lemole claimed that although Dr. Oz exclusively spoke to her mother, it was part of his strategy.

He reasoned that if her mother approved of him as a potential date, he would stand a higher chance of getting her approval. Years later, Dr. Oz admitted that he fell in love with Lemole right away but kept it a secret from his father.

The most well-known physician in America didn’t want to give his father the “pleasure of believing” he arranged for him to meet his wife. Lemole was invited out by Dr. Oz shortly after their initial encounter, but she refused after telling him what she wanted. She clarified:

“I’m only dating you if you’re not dating anybody else, so I’ll only go out with you if you don’t have any other dates,” she said.

Lemole accepted his invitation, but it wasn’t a good first date. It’s nothing short of a miracle that they’re still together because she even called it “sort of a disaster.”

Lemole was a vegetarian, so he took her to a steakhouse, which would have been a good venue for a first date. When she told Dr. Oz about it, he said nothing because he believed that being a vegetarian meant she consumed both meat and vegetables.

“I never considered myself to be a supporting character.”

Things became tricky after a seven-month relationship. After a bitter argument with Lemole, Dr. Oz realized he could not survive without her.

She stormed off, but he knew he had to do something extreme (and fast) to get her back, so he raced her down the street and grabbed an aluminum can tab from the ground. He had a specific idea in mind.

After offering it to her, he acknowledged that it wasn’t much but pledged to make “something out of this” before popping the question. Lemole and Dr. Oz wed in 1985 and have been partners ever since.

They have one of the oldest and most fruitful relationships in show business, as well as four children and four grandchildren. It is important to note that Lemole was critical to Dr. Oz’s success as a TV doctor.

Dr. Oz made brief appearances on ABC, CNN, and “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Lemole pushed him to pursue his TV show after observing that it was a potential possibility.

She put her experience as a long-time movie producer to good use and created “Second Opinion with Dr. Oz.” Although it only ran for 13 episodes on the Discovery Health Channel, it marked the beginning of his successful career.

Lemole acknowledged that she made the cowardly decision to stop acting and producing her own productions in order to concentrate on her husband’s career. She was “racked with terror” during auditions, in contrast to him who was “fearless” and didn’t mind performing in front of others and facing criticism.

She acknowledged that it had been terrific to assist Dr. Oz in developing his health and wellness brand, particularly given how it had altered his professional course. She, however, found it difficult as well. Lemole clarified:

“I’ve never considered myself to be a supporting character. I adore being a helpful wife, but right now, I miss doing things on my own.”

The reason Dr. Oz and Lemole have been together for so long is because they have made a concerted effort to keep their romance fresh. They reaffirm their vows to one another every seven years.

He acknowledged that after seven years, all relationships—including marriages, friendships, and jobs—need to be recreated. Dr. Oz also made light of the fact that he and Lemole had each been married to three different partners.

Returning to their family, Dr. Oz and Lemole welcomed Philo into the world in March 2014 through their daughter Daphne. Jovan, Domenica, and Giovanna, their other three grandchildren, are also very loved by them.

Due in large part to the fact that he routinely gives his grandchildren candy, Dr. Oz claimed he likes to think of himself as a devoted grandfather. The fact that they always get to do something enjoyable when they are with him makes the kids appreciate being around him.
