Kristen Bell, who has over 12 million Instagram followers, has been leveraging her popularity to support teachers in need.

Bell has been sharing a teacher’s story on Instagram every week for the last six months as part of a project she calls #FeatureTeacherFriday.

Bell stresses the teacher’s need for school supplies in each of her posts and urges her followers to help—and her call to action has proven to be incredibly effective.

After being highlighted on Bell’s Instagram in May, one elementary school teacher in Belmont, North Carolina, was overwhelmed with parcels.

“I’ve gotten over a couple hundred pieces so far, and they’re still coming in every day,” Riggs told WCNC reporters the following week. “I even received a present from the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe!” ”

Emily Mayberry, a first-grade teacher from Flint, Michigan, was recently featured on Bell.

Within a week of appearing on Bell’s social media page, she was inundated with gifts, parcels, and items from her Amazon wishlist.

“Others’ kindness is astounding,” the school posted on Facebook. “The quality of feeling and experiencing thankfulness and appreciation is known as gratitude.”
