Age is not just a number in Hollywood. Women are put under scrutiny for wrinkles and grey hair. Most stars try their best to not look old. However, Andie MacDowell never tries to hide her wisdom or her age. The “St. Elmo’s Fire” star recently told NPR, that when she was 40, many journalists fixated on her age and they all wanted to know how she felt about growing older. One journalist even asked, how she felt about “losing [her] beauty.” To which she answered, “I really don’t feel like I’m losing my beauty. I just feel like it’s a different kind of beauty.”
MacDowell has advocated accepting natural beauty in all its forms. She also stayed away from getting cosmetic surgery herself. She believes growing older naturally is a beautiful process. Recently, she refused to even dye her hair. She even tried getting botox once and despised the results. She also consulted a plastic surgeon once and left their office in the middle of the conversation, knowing that she would never come back.
