John Stamos waited long to marry “the perfect woman”…

Since he became famous in the early 1980s for playing Blackie Parrish on “General Hospital,” John Stamos has been a household name. His most recognizable role as Uncle Jesse on “Full House,” which came after more TV work, only strengthened his reputation as a gorgeous hunk of his day. The actor has continued to work in television throughout the past few decades, even reprising his part in the “Fuller House” revival.

Stamos has had a long love life in addition to his acting career. Midway through the 1990s, he began dating and eventually wed the model Rebecca Romijn; however, ten years later, they divorced. Stamos wasn’t romantically associated with anyone in the years that followed, so it was even more upsetting when he started talking about wanting kids. Funny to consider that Stamos wasn’t at all like Uncle Jesse, the fairly irresponsible role he played on “Full House,” in real life. The heartthrob appeared to be waiting for the ideal woman to start a family at that point.

Finally, he ran upon actress and model Caitlin McHugh, and the rest, as they say, is history. The couple’s romance didn’t start right away after they met while working together. But ultimately, everything came together. At McHugh’s favorite place in the world, Disneyland, Stamos proposed, and the pair revealed in 2017 that they were expecting their first child together. Since the birth of their son Billy in April 2018, Stamos has been a devoted father who often updates his social media accounts.

Even with all of his fame as an actor, it seems that Stamos spent his entire life wanting to portray the role of a father. It was obvious that he had the parent gene in him even while he was playing Uncle Jesse. In fact, Stamos’ “Full House” co-stars Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure told PEOPLE that he was the “baby whisperer” of the group. He reportedly jokingly told US Weekly that he wanted children so desperately that his “ovaries were rattling,” thus it turns out he had children in the future. Later, he disclosed to ET:

“Just took me a lot longer than I thought it would. If I eventually met the proper woman—the ideal woman—and I didn’t have kids, that would be tragic.”

Fortunately, he discovered the ideal partner in McHugh, who would later become his wife. He characterized McHugh as a “kind, loving, lovely soul who would make a good mother” in the same interview with US Weekly. They spent no time in moving forward because they both had a firm understanding that this was the one. After two years of dating, Stamos proposed to McHugh in October 2017.

After watching a very romantic film, McHugh got down on one knee at Disneyland, his favorite location in the world. Prior to Stamos being told to “Just ask the girl,” Sebastian from “The Little Mermaid” appeared in some of the most passionate Disney and Pixar movie sequences. The actor stated the following in an Instagram post that announced their engagement: “She said yes when I asked! …And we had a long, happy life.”

It was only appropriate that Stamos and McHugh’s wedding would be flawless after such a lovely engagement. There was a tiny glitch, though. The day before her wedding, some burglars got into McHugh’s hotel room at the Beverly Hills Hotel and took jewelry worth $165,000.

Thankfully, the couple’s wedding day itself went considerably more smoothly. Stamos and McHugh were wed on February 3, 2018, in the Little Brown Church in Studio City, California, according to Us Weekly.

Following that, a sizable party was hosted at Stamos’ Beverly Hills residence. McHugh looked gorgeous in her white wedding dress despite being pregnant at the time. Her lengthy hair was parted in the back and flowed. Stamos put on a dark suit and a coordinating bow tie. McHugh was 31 years old and Stamos was 54 years old when they were married.

It’s incredible to think that Stamos had talked about what it was like to be single and how he was looking for that special someone over ten years before being married. I sound like a lady now, he continued, but you understand that I don’t want to just offer myself to anyone?

After being married, Stamos and McHugh welcomed their first child, a son, just over two months later. It was obvious that Stamos had improved upon his reputation as everyone’s favorite television uncle.

Stamos shared the touching news on Instagram on April 16, 2018. He uploaded a photo of himself cradling his infant son along with the caption:

“My wife and my son will always be the best parts of me, going forward. Greetings, Billy Stamos (named after my father). #Overjoyed #NotJustanUncleAnymore

Back in the day, Stamos was kind of a bad boy, or at least that is how he came across on television. His life has changed significantly since yesterday, and he is overjoyed.

Stamos admitted, “I always wanted to have children, but I didn’t think I’d meet the right person. And maybe I felt like well, I have everything, so I shouldn’t be greedy.

The actor gives thanks to his wife for helping him get his life in order. “I don’t believe I was worthy of it yet. But six years ago, I woke up and changed for the better. And I instantly recognized it when Caitlin turned around. I asserted, “I have to be excellent for that to work,” “said he.

When the couple first started dating, they had no idea that they would one day have a happy family together. They first met on the set of the hit TV program “Law & Order: SVU” in 2011, long before they even began dating, as Stamos revealed In 2017. The personalities they played turned out to be particularly ironic in retrospect, as Stamos explained:

“I played a character who had, like, 60 kids or something because he was so arrogant that he believed he should spread his offspring. He was puncturing condoms and other things. Ironically, Caitlin was one of the girls I was attempting to deceive into having a baby with.”

In a different interview in 2019, the actor stated that he has always yearned for a large family and a great woman to spend the rest of his life with. The actor revealed in his honest explanation:

“For a child, I waited a long time. All I needed to do was find the appropriate person to do it with.”
