Christian Actress Ditches “Woke” Hallmark Channel for Christian Channel

Candace Cameron Bure is the stunning actress known for her performances in Hallmark movies, a favorite of moms across the country during the Christmas season.

But, while she’s well-known for her Hallmark movie performances, Candace won’t be in those movies any longer. Rather, she’s leaving “woke” Hallmark for a Christian channel because of the non-Christian message that Hallmark is pushing with its new movies about gays.

Paul Rudnick, a leftist of just the sort that would love to see the formerly wholesome Hallmark channel ruined by leftist messaging, snidely tweeted about her departure, saying:

Candace Cameron Bure has left the Hallmark Channel because it depicts LGBTQ romances which Candace says aren’t “Christian.” Her next movies, on an evangelical channel, will include Eva&Adolf – Christmas In Berlin, A Caucasians-Only Klan Christmas, and A Militia Called Love.

Speaking about the move from Hallmark to the Great American Family, Candace said:

“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

Adding to that, she noted that Hallmark is now woke and “basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership.”

The former head of Hallmark’s parent company, Crown Media, was Bill Abbott. He left Crown Media in 2020 and is now the CEO of Great American Family, where Candace will be making movies.

Making her distaste of Hallmark’s woke drift toward movies about gays all the more obvious, Candace added that “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” when explaining the reason for her move to it.

Abbott, for his part, was a bit less straightforward about whether Great American Family would bend to the same woke winds as Hallmark, saying:

“It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends. There’s no whiteboard that says, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’ll never go here.’”

Though many comments on Twitter were, like Rudnick’s, spiteful and full of anger that Candace might hold non-woke religious beliefs about marriage and what is acceptable, some people stepped in and sided with Candace.

One commenter on the New York Post tweet on the topic said, for example:

I am glad, we have stopped watching Hallmark! It has become very WOKE!!

We actually had GAF on all weekend!

Another said: “The only reason I have paid for ATT uverse is to get Hallmark…. Guess I can cut this off now.”

Also, someone cheered Candace for sticking up for her beliefs, saying “Good for her for sticking to her beliefs and morals.”

On the same point, another commenter said “Good for her standing up against the radical, woke homosexual agenda and fighting for traditional marriage and values”.

Still another praised her for being true to her principles, saying “Congratulations @candacecbure. Stand up for Our Savior and pray for the worldly. The Biblically principled are so few in the entertainment industry. God’s blessings on your new projects!“
