At his school concert in 2016, 16-year-old student Ruben Liversage took the stage, and the crowd had no idea what was in store for them.

Everyone was spellbound by the adolescent’s deep rendition of the Simon and Garfunkel song “Sound of Silence.”

Numerous musicians from around the world have recorded versions of this classic song. The heavy metal group Disturbed did a creative rendition of the song. The group received a request to play the song on the Conan O’Brien program. According to Forbes, the performance on the late-night program received more than 100 million views and even Simon’s plaudits.

When you thought the Disturbed cover could not be topped, 16-year-old Ruben Liversage gave a comparable performance to Disturbed but with a different perspective. Nobody would have ever imagined that Liversage would be able to equal the incredible vocal prowess of Disturbed’s main singer, David Draiman, but the youthful singer manages to do it effortlessly.

When you hear Liversage’s vocal range and undeniable capacity to hit every note, it is difficult to imagine that he is only a teenager. You can tell by watching this thrilling performance that Liversage is destined for greatness.
