Martin Sheen Celebrates 61st Wedding Anniversary With Wife Janet Sheen | “She’s The Best Human Being I’ve Ever Known”
She stood by Martin Sheen and nursed him back to health after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Martin Sheen captured the affection of his wife, Janet Sheen when he was just starting out in the film and television industry. They married in 1961 and have been inseparably in love ever since. On December 23, 2022, the couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Sheen recalled meeting Templeton for the first time in front of his son Ramon Estevez and the general public. Sheen said, “I was fortunate enough and smart enough to fall for her.”

He knew he had to raise the stakes once he started wooing her and figured she’d be more charmed if she saw him onscreen, and it worked. The couple began living together soon after and married in 1961. Sheen, on the other hand, admitted that he was still playing just at the time and that it took him two decades to start realizing what he had with Templeton, he said “It took me about 20 years to realize that I was leading a dishonest life and that she was my idol. She was free, and I thought, ‘I want to be like that.’ It was like, ‘Wow, I want to come up to her level now,’ and that made all the difference.” He also said, “She’s the best human being I’ve ever known in my life, and I’m continually inspired by her.”
