Katie Holmes has been raising their daughter on her own in New York, with Tom Cruise not participating in raising their child.

Sometimes, divorces can become so ugly and bitter, that it separates two people forever, causing pain to the kids who are likely to be caught in the middle of it. The split between Tom Cruise and his third wife, Katie Holmes was such a kind. They parted ways in 2012 and since then, have no contact at all, not even for the sake of their daughter, Suri. Cruise has not even seen his daughter since then. After getting married to Cruise in 2006, Holmes converted to his religion of Scientology. However, as years passed by, their relationship reached a breaking point. Holmes left Scientology stating it was getting in the way of their family and eventually the couple decided to split, according to Mirror Online. Suri was just 6 years old but still realized her life was going to change forever.

“Obviously she is old enough to know that things in her life are changing. But she knows, as she always has, that both of her parents love her enormously and will always be there for her,” said a source at the time, according to People. Since their split, Holmes has been raising her daughter on her own in New York. Meanwhile, Cruise has shown no interest in reaching out to his own daughter. The last time, he was seen with Suri was when she was  6 years old in 2012. He took her daughter on a trip to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
