Kenny Chesney is most recognized for his work as a singer and composer in the genre of country music. In addition to that, he is an exceptionally excellent guitarist as well. Because many of his singles have not only topped the country charts but also done extremely well on the US Billboard Hot 100, he is considered a highly successful crossover artist. He has been a chart-topping artist for decades, and many of his singles have topped both the country charts and the US Billboard Hot 100.

Chesney was born on March 26th, 1968 in the city of Knoxville, which is located in the state of Tennessee. During his time at the high school, he not only developed a passion for playing sports but also obtained his first guitar. During his time as a student, the famous musician released a demo album, despite the fact that he went on to get his degree in a field unrelated to music. Soon after his graduation in 1990, he relocated to Nashville and began playing in local bars, including the world-famous Bluebird Cafe. It wasn’t until a few years later that he was able to get a record contract.

Since that time, Chesney has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of country music. He is the recipient of a number of Grammy Awards, in addition to the Entertainer of the Year award from both the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards.

“Don’t Blink,” “There Goes My Life,” and “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem” are just a few of the singer’s most well-known and successful tracks. He has continued to put out new songs up to the present day and even went on the road for a tour in the spring and summer of 2022.

Ruby, Chesney’s beloved puppy, went away in December of 2022. Sadly, this happened. He paid tribute to her with a number of messages on social media as well as an emotional song. In addition to that, he put the money he made from the song toward something that was very important to him at the time.

Chesney is not new to the practice of giving back to those in need. In 2017, the singer-songwriter contributed to relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Irma. He is the owner of a house located on St. John in the United States Virgin Islands, which served as a safe haven for many individuals as they waited out the hurricane. Chesney established a charity foundation in order to assist the victims, and he also contributed the revenues from his album “Songs for the Saints,” which was released the following year and was influenced by the awful events that had taken place.

In December of 2022, Chesney once again utilized his ability in music to assist people who were in need; however, this time it was an experience that was more heartfelt. On December 4, 2022, he took to Instagram to break the news to his followers that his cherished dog Ruby had gone away. He wrote those words in the caption:

“Today we lost Da Ruba Girl. Ruby never had a grudge against anybody because she lived her life that way. She has an old and reassuring spirit. She was straightforward and genuine, she served as a guardian, and she navigated the route of her life with the tenacity of a warrior. Ruby loved the warmth of the sun and the way it caressed her skin. That was something that we shared in common. Today, I have no doubt that Ruby is basking in the warmth of the sun someplace, rejoicing and expressing her gratitude for the fact that the cancer has finally left her skin and body.

The artist who is most known for his song “Don’t Blink” went on to say that the puppy was thankful for being saved, and that he and his family were just as glad for the chance to rescue her. Chesney went on to say:

“I’m sorry to see you go, Ruby. You were an exceptionally good little girl. You were someone we loved, and we are grateful that you showed us how to love without conditions. You were a model of canine perfection. “She will be renowned as Da Ruba Girl… all over the globe.”

Because of this, Chesney decided to release the philanthropic track “Da Ruba Girl” in Ruby’s honor.

PEOPLE reports that the revenues from the song will be donated to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, which is regarded as one of the most important animal welfare groups in the United States.

On his Twitter account, Chesney said, “Losing Ruby has created a void for which there are no words for… It seemed only fitting that the song that she had been the inspiration for, ‘Da Ruba Girl,’ should be the one to “pay it forward” by contributing to the amazing individuals who work at Stray Rescue of St. Louis. In a subsequent Twitter, he stated, “No one had a greater, braver heart than Ruby.” Ruby was the subject of the tweet.

“I composed ‘Da Ruba Girl’ about Ruby because she was this spirit that had so many various parts to who she was,” I said, “because she had so many different pieces to who she was.” Although I had recorded it and thought it was a nice tune, I never featured it on any of my albums. Instead, we would play it on No Shoes Radio, and it quickly became a favorite among listeners there. People liked the song, in my opinion, because they all knew a dog that had the same type of spirit or heart, you know, the kind who was an underdog, who wasn’t the apparent option.”

The heartfelt lyrics of the song describe the love that Chesney had with his late dog and include the following passages:

You were necessary to her, and she was necessary to you. to take up or assist in filling a place. The very last person in line, and the very last cage at the rescue. Was a love that could not be replicated by anybody else. There, strewn around like a misplaced strand of pearls Was da Ruba gal.”

Chesney sent the following to any fans who were interested in buying the song and contributing to animal shelters:

“For every dog in the world who is like Ruby, I hope that ‘Da Ruba Girl’ may offer them new homes, generate money for the shelter, and educate people that adopting a rescue who actually needs a home can result in a very meaningful love.”
